We want to answer as many questions as we can up front so we can focus on making your experience with Myofascial Release a success. Below you will find many of the frequently asked questions we encounter. If you are looking for our Polices, such as our cancelation policy, please check out our Policies and Procedures page.  If we haven’t covered a question, ask us!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Myofascial Therapy doesn’t require the patient to fully uncloth, however, loose clothing is important. At MFR Clinic, we want you to be comfortable, so undress only to your level of comfort. In fact, we encourage men to wear loose shorts and women to wear a sports bra with loose shorts during a session. Draping is done if you choose to fully undress. We have heated tables that adjust for height, blankets and private rooms for your comfort. Sheets are changed and tables sterilized between every session.

We get this question often. So often, we wrote a blog explaining “Massage versus Myofascial Release.” MFR (Myofascial Release) is a specific modality aimed at reducing pain and increasing mobility. It does not involve rubbing in long strokes across the muscles, as massage traditionally provides. Rather, MFR consists of sustained, targeted pressure on the parts of your body that are the key drivers of your pain. MFR is focused on nurturing your body to heal, adapt, decrease inflammation and reduce constriction. MFR was developed by a Physical Therapist to fill a void in caring for injuries and pain. Where massage is focused on relaxation and spa-like experiences, MFR is focused more on long-term pain relief and increased mobility.

Being trained in multiple modalities enables us to select from a variety of techniques to assist each patient in their health journey. Our intake interview enables us to see the whole picture of your pain or challenge and discuss the options available along with MFR.

MFR, MAT, IASTM and K-Tape are included in our sessions. Cupping may have an additional charge if done outside of a session.

Oils and lotions are not used with MFR therapy. In fact, oils and lotions can interfere with the work we do. It’s best to have clean skin and loose clothing (you undress to your comfort level). The fact that oils and lotions are not used means that you can remain clothed in lightweight, loose clothing to the level of your comfort during a session.

We currently do not file insurance for our clients. However, we do keep SOAP notes and can provide monthly statements to facilitate your filing for reimbursement from your insurance company. We can also provide a receipt at time of payment that can be used to file to your HSA or insurance. If you need a monthly statement sent each month, please let us know.

We do accept credit cards and HSA cards. In addition to VISA, Mastercard (MC), AmericanExpress (AMEX) and Discover,  we accept checks and cash.

Yes to both! We offer prepay programs of 6-prepaid sessions. We do offer a discount for prepayment of sessions, however, if paying with a credit card, there will be a payment processing fee. Prepaid sessions must be used within 6 months and are not refundable.

No. We will allow you a prepaid session to be used for another family member, if desired, but we cannot refund prepaid sessions.

Yes. Please arrange this in advance so we are aware that your family member will be using a prepaid session and that you approve using one of your prepaid sessions by a family member.

Cancellation Policy

In Depth Myofascial Release and Zenergy Bodyworks understand that events may happen that are outside of our control. In order for us to offer the best care to our clients we believe in having an effective and fair policy out of consideration for our staff and you. Our policies follow the standards of healthcare, massage therapy and myofascial therapy offices. Please adhere to the following policies:

24-Hour Notice

24-hour notice is required if cancelling an appointment. This allows us time to fill that appointment with another patient. If you are unable to give us at least 24-hour minimum notice, you will be liable for 50% of the cost of that appointment. Any future appointments without 24-hour notice will be charged 100% of that appointment.

No Show

If you forget or consciuously choose to miss or skip an appointment with no contact to our office, you will be considered a “no show.” The entire cost of the appointment will be billed to the account, payable at any time before your next scheduled appointment.

Late Arrival

Appointment times are set to maximize our staff’s schedule. If you arrive late, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate your appointment and not negatively impact other client appointments. The team has the right to determine if there is enough time remaining in order to start the session. Late Arrival will also be charged the full amount for the service.

Insufficient Check Policy

In the event that a check is returned due to insufficient funds, we must collect a standard NSF check fee. Due to today’s economy, that fee is $45 per instance of a check being found insufficient and not being covered by the bank. We ask that you resolve this quickly or we will bill you the charges and expect payment before your next visit. We will make several attempts to contact you and resolve the issue. However, should you be unreachable, or non-responsive, we will need to turn the debt over to collections per a standard collections process.
